Sigh.  I can't find one of my US1 DPNs (double-pointed needle, for the non-knitters out there).  While right now I only need the four I have to finish up the cuff of this sock,

  I'd like to have all five when I start its partner.  This isn't really a big deal, but considering the state of my house (re-modeling blues) I've half a mind to give up the search before it begins and just buy another set.  Then I'd have four spares!

oh don't you just hate that! I went through three pair of US1dpn before I made the switch to magic loop.

ps- thanks for the email and the suggestion. would it suprise you to know I thought of the same thing and the idea came from the same place (only the play was Hello Dolly, it was for the dancing waiters, and I was too er- girlish to be playing one.) I actually tried it, but there were problems.
