Take a look at these pictures...see if there's anything "out of the ordinary":
In this image, look closely at the lower right hand corner. See
that yarn? Yeah. Don't you like the way he placed it near his bone
bed (the color goes quite nicely with the towel, does it not?) - where he already has a bone? What you can't quite see is
that his toy box is right next to the bone bed. Sigh. I particularly
like the combination of dog slobber and hair with which the skein is
now covered. It's the last of three skeins for Green Gable, and I'm
hoping that I can just keep center-pulling and that the inside layers
are clean. I figure I'll have to wash the finished product anyway,
surely I can still knit with the skein. Is that bad?
And here, here we have a lovely photo of our new fridge. As you may recall, this was delivered - amazingly without incident - two weeks ago along with the dishwasher and the freezer. It wasn't until a few days later, after the appliances had been placed in their new spots, that we noticed...
(drumroll please)
the door opens the wrong way! Aaarrrggghhhh!!! See the bluish line on the left-hand side of the refrigerator door? It's the handle, covered in protective plastic. The fridge will eventually be built in to the cabinetry, and right up against that wall to the left. Yes, the wall right next to the handle. Sigh (again).
Thankfully the company said that they delivered the wrong one. So we get another new fridge delivered tomorrow. Which means more deliverymen taking this one out and putting version 2.0 in. It has been suggested by neighbors that we have a big party when the kitchen's done. I think we'll be too exhausted to throw any kind of party any time soon.
My number one work-in-progress has been Green Gable:
It's coming along quite nicely. It's a great no-need-to-look kinda project, which is precisely what I need right now. :-) I'm a bit concerned about the rolling at the neckline. Yesterday we were at Hilltop and Kat suggested doing a crochet chain-stitch border to help it hold its shape. It's what she did with her version (which is on a bust on the table in the middle of the foyer) and it's lovely! She even took the time to show me how to do it. I love that store!
