Last week I hosted a little party about Sunrider Herbal Foods. I believe strongly in the benefits of these foods, having experienced many positive changes personally while also seeing/hearing about great results for friends. Anyway, two friends arrived first to our home and after helping them get settled in the living room I noticed that they still had their coats on. I offered to hang their coats for them, and they looked at me (a bit surprised) and said "Are you warm enough? You've been sick, after all". I was confused, because I felt quite comfortable with my undershirt, long-sleeved cotton shirt, and wool cardigan on. I took a look at our thermostat and saw that it was set at its usual 66 degrees F. I laughed and said that I was actually a bit on the warm side, but that I would happily turn the heat up for them.
It did make me think, though. Do we keep our house too cold? I turned the thermostat up to 70, not wanting my guests to be uncomfortable. Presently, Rob came into the room and also offered to take coats. They smiled and laughingly declined the offer, saying they were a bit chilly. They inquired as to his comfort, and he said, "I live with the Mistress of Wool. I'm plenty warm." Then he set about making us a cozy fire.
So, you may now refer to me as the Mistress of Wool...though, admittedly, most of my wool is not yet made into garments. I'll have to get cracking.
I don't really have a Christmas Knitting Plan, as I lack the speed to make a 6-week spring to Christmas feasible. I made a little something for my sister, and plan on another little something for Aadil and Mirra, but other than working on my own Fair Isle Cardigan (I'm not in the knit-along, I just wanted an easy to link photo, so scroll down for examples) and a new hat for Rob, I have no set knitting plans. I am, however, looking forward to lots of knitting time during my week off (Christmas Eve through New Years Day). Hopefully the cardi will be done by then and I can finally set to work on my Malabrigo-liscious Wisteria pullover.
Kelly, we keep our thermostat at 66 too. Any higher seems too warm! I love wearing cozy wool socks and slippers!
